Timanfaya National Park was created between 1730 and 1736 when more than 100 volcanoes, covering more than 50 km², rose up and devastated this part of the island. The last eruptions were in 1824.When you enter the park you will be shown several demonstration of how hot the ground is. Then you can take a tour bus around the park, with a guide, they will tell you about the National Park and its history.
